Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with informed recommendations.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of grocery specials and stock fresh products.
• Recommend grocery items to meet customers' needs and desires.
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of maintenance needs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
