Job summary

Kroger in Madison, WV is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment. You will bag groceries at checkout, assist customers with loading bags, and help with shelf maintenance while promoting store promotions and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum Position Qualifications: Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Aim for at least five items per bag and ensure items are undamaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging with reusable/plastic/paper bags.
• Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return to designated areas.
• Clean spills and trash inside store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report items in need of repair.
• Create welcoming environment and answer product questions.
