Job summary

Harps Food Stores is seeking a Closing Manager to oversee Grocery Department operations, ensuring readiness, merchandising, and safety standards. You will supervise replenishment, inventory, and front-end activities, delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high store standards.

You will coach staff, monitor safety programs, and align daily activities with Harps’ mission of value, quality, and friendly service. Evening/weekend availability is often required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience in a retail grocery store preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions.
• Moves, lifts, carries and places merchandise weighing ≤50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grocery department operations including department readiness, marketing plan execution, price maintenance, policies and procedures, inventory preparation, department cleanliness, and safe use of equipment and tools.
• Direct fresh food preparation and production ensuring food safety standards and counter service quality.
• Assist with front-end operations by managing daily schedule, register coverage, breaks and closing procedures.
• Monitor safety programs, train staff, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Provide direction, mentoring, and team development to maximize performance and customer satisfaction.
