Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately using the Point of Sale system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
2. Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies, check product quality for freshness, and review sell-by dates to ensure quality.
3. Promote trust and respect among team members.
4. Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions regarding products sold.
5. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
6. Greet, engage, and assist customers.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials.
8. Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
9. Report discrepancies in product ordering, shipping, and pricing to management.
10. Adhere to company policies on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
11. Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
12. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
13. Comply with food safety regulations and maintain proper temperature logs.
14. Ensure safety procedures are followed, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
15. Perform equipment inspections and notify management of repairs needed.
16. Report customer or employee accidents.
17. Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
18. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling carts, bending, twisting, and other manual tasks.
19. Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments.
20. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
21. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
22. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
23. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
24. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

• Memorize produce and sale items
• Effective communication and reading skills
• Must be 18 years or older
