Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system, handling various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies, check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products sold.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering, shipping, and pricing to management.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and report repairs.
• Notify management of accidents.
• Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
• Physical demands include standing, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, and other manual tasks.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts professionally, and act with integrity.
• Support diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to complete cashier training
• Memorize produce and sale items
• Effective communication and reading skills
• Must be 18 or older
