Job summary

Kroger is hiring for an on-site store associate in Anchorage, AK. You will deliver exceptional customer service, assist shoppers, bag items, and support cashiers while maintaining safety and cleanliness across the store.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
• Must be 16 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond with suggestions.
• Assist with customer requests; retrieving, lifting and locating product.
• Greet customers, help load merchandise, bag items and thank customers.
• Assist in removing customer merchandise from bottom of basket for checkout.
• Follow bagging preferences and best bagging practices across bag types.
• Offer loading assistance to customers to their cars.
• Control shrink by following company initiatives and inspecting baskets and carts.
• Retrieve carts from parking area and return to designated areas.
• Know store layout to locate products and perform price checks for cashiers.
• Observe shift operating hours and maintain a positive attitude.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Log and execute safety sweeps on the sales floor every half hour.
• Notify management of accidents; report safety risks or illegality.
