Job summary

Kroger is seeking a dedicated team member to create an outstanding customer experience and uphold a clean, safe store environment in the department. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals and ensuring quality standards are met, while reflecting Kroger’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

In this role you will help customers, answer questions about products, stock shelves, and monitor product quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products sold and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they have ordered.
• Recommend items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying managers.
