• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk helps customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Informs customers of food specials and recommends items to ensure customers get what they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable groceries they have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated.
