Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor all quality assurance standards. Responsibilities include:

1. Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
2. Checking product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
3. Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
4. Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
5. Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
6. Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
7. Adhering to food safety regulations, maintaining proper temperatures, and logging temperature data.
8. Gaining product knowledge to assist and suggest to customers.
9. Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
10. Reinforcing safety protocols, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting them.
11. Practicing preventive maintenance on equipment and reporting repairs.
12. Reporting customer or employee accidents to management.
13. Working cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally, and acting with honesty and integrity.
14. Following directions, seeking assistance when needed, and supporting individuals with special needs, minors, and older adults.
