Responsibilities include:

  • Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Checking product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
  • Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
  • Gaining product knowledge to assist and suggest to customers.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions, and making suggestions.
  • Reinforcing safety protocols by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and notifying management of repairs.
  • Reporting accidents involving customers or employees.
  • Working cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments.
  • Managing conflicts professionally and ethically.
  • Following directions and seeking help when needed to resolve issues.
  • Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
