Job summary

Kent’s Market in Utah is seeking a Grocery Clerk to help keep our store clean, well-stocked, and customer-friendly. Duties include shelving, price marking, inventory control, and assisting guests with product locations. Weekend shifts are required, with potential holiday work.

The role supports teamwork and may involve assisting with bagging groceries or helping at the register as training progresses. This is a full/part-time role typical for entry-level retail positions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper methods of product handling, case cutting, price marking, rotation and display of merchandise.
• Achieve and maintain established cases per man-hour.
• Maintain a well-stocked store through an effective control of inventory in line with established guidelines.
• Follow through and achieve all company policies, programs and directives that apply to stocking operations.
• Ensure that all price changes are completed on time, legible, accurate, and meet company policies.
• Provide frequent guest service through friendly behavior and extensive product knowledge.
• Maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
• Supports the team by taking on additional tasks or responsibilities as requested.

They work closely with other Grocery Clerks and employees to complete daily tasks. Their job includes shelving food items, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning up spills and garbage to ensure customer safety, and showing customers where to find specific brands or food items. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries.
