Responsibilities:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate action.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs.
- Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department to answer questions and suggest items.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and non-confrontationally.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
