Responsibilities include:

  • Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
  • Checking product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
  • Providing customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, with logs.
  • Gaining product knowledge to respond to questions and make suggestions.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Reinforcing safety programs and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
  • Supporting a cooperative work environment, managing conflicts, and acting with integrity.
  • Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
  • Providing support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
