Responsibilities include:

1. Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
2. Checking product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate actions.
3. Providing customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable grocery products.
4. Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
5. Reporting product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
6. Staying current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
7. Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
8. Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keeping temperature logs.
9. Gaining knowledge of products and responding to customer questions and suggestions.
10. Creating a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel important and appreciated.
11. Reinforcing safety programs, complying with safety procedures, and reporting unsafe conditions.
12. Practicing preventive maintenance and inspecting equipment, reporting repairs needed.
13. Reporting customer or employee accidents to management.
14. Working cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
15. Managing conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
16. Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
17. Following directions and seeking assistance to resolve issues.
18. Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
