Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review "sell by" dates.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and manage inventory of department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay current with advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and log temperature data.
  • Gain knowledge of products to answer questions and suggest items to customers.
  • Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Report any customer or employee accidents to management.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving issues.
  • Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodations.
