Job description

To stock merchandise on shelves and displays throughout the department in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner; ensuring that all products are fresh, rotated, and well-stocked for our customers while maintaining excellent customer service.

Pay for this position starts at $15.00 - $20.60 / hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age; (18 to operate the compactor)
• Complete training in grocery operations.
• Ability to prioritize workload and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work a schedule based on the store's needs.
• Authorized to work within the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and thank customers promptly, courteously, and friendly.
• Commit to the “Golden Rule” and collaborate with other associates to build a strong grocery team.
• Maintain high associate morale by working in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented manner (RSTO).
• Receive and unload deliveries, verify accuracy, and store products appropriately.
• Rotate all grocery products in display cases, coolers, and freezers according to company policy and product date codes, using the first-in, first-out method.
• Clean shelves during restocking, fill and build displays, ensuring they are blocked and straightened.
• Assist in keeping the department merchandised to meet community needs.
• Return overstock to the stockroom in an organized manner.
• Perform price changes as necessary.
• Report potential shrinkage issues, out-of-stock items, security concerns, and customer requests or complaints to the grocery manager.
• Follow sanitation procedures and practice the “Cleaner’s Creed”.
• Monitor cooler and display temperatures; report refrigeration failures immediately.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards; report hazards to management.
• Exercise proper safety practices when lifting, moving products, or using equipment and tools.

Secondary Job Functions:

• Assist the front end with bagging during busy times.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
• Properly dispose of trash.
• Complete onboarding, e-learnings, and checklists within 30 days of hire.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
