Key Responsibilities:

  • Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality, ensuring freshness and reviewing "sell by" dates, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines diligently.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping temperature logs.
  • Develop knowledge of products sold within the department to assist and suggest to customers.
  • Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Support safety programs by adhering to procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
  • Notify management of any customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help when resolving issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
