Key Responsibilities:
- Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action to ensure freshness.
- Provide customers with ordered products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
- Develop knowledge of products sold within the department to assist and make suggestions to customers.
- Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of any customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
