Key Responsibilities:

• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action to ensure freshness.
• Provide customers with ordered products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
• Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.
• Develop knowledge of products sold within the department to assist and make suggestions to customers.
• Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued by answering questions and providing assistance.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
• Notify management of any customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
