Job Responsibilities:
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality, ensure freshness, and review "sell by" dates, taking appropriate actions.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and log these temperatures.
  • Develop product knowledge within the department to assist and recommend to customers.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued and appreciated.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow instructions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
