Essential Job Functions:

  • Help customers discover new items and inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of specials and recommend products to meet their needs.
  • Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  • Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and ads.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
  • Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
  • Create a welcoming environment, making customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
  • Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
