Grocery Clerk (Finance)

Responsibilities include:

  • Informing customers of food specials and recommending grocery items to meet their needs.
  • Checking product quality for freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates, and taking appropriate action.
  • Providing customers with ordered groceries, both fresh and non-perishable.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management of department merchandise.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
  • Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers, including logging.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and responding to customer inquiries with suggestions.
  • Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel valued and appreciated.
  • Reinforcing safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Practicing preventive maintenance and notifying management of equipment issues.
  • Reporting customer or employee accidents.
  • Working cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Managing conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
  • Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Following directions and seeking assistance to resolve issues.
  • Supporting and assisting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Performing essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary Range: Minimum $15.25 - Maximum $16.85
