Key Responsibilities:
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend grocery items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality, ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
- Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager.
- Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
- Follow all food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs as required.
- Develop knowledge of products and be able to answer questions and make suggestions.
- Create a welcoming environment by engaging with customers and making them feel valued.
- Adhere to safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs needed.
- Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults during interactions.
