Job summary

Food Lion in Amherst, VA is seeking a Retail Associate to provide exceptional customer service in the Grocery Center. You will support store operations, maintain shelves, and help customers with a friendly, accurate experience while upholding Food Lion standards.

Responsibilities include stocking, following safety guidelines, using store tools and completing CBT training modules, with opportunities to learn multiple tasks and grow within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

• Maintain fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Courteous and helpful to other associates
• Stock shelves and shelf tag moldings with damp cloth when stocking
• Maintain shelf allocations by stocking from tag to tag
• Place only saleable merchandise on the shelves
• Ensure that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO
• Maintain adherence to company guidelines, policies and standard practice
• Understand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions
• Report accidents in accordance with procedures
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with nametag
• Complete CBT, Training Packet and Training Aid courses
• Perform all other duties as assigned
