Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers in Green River, WY is seeking a courteous Clerk/Grocery Bagger to assist customers at checkout, bag groceries, and keep aisles clean and safe. You will learn store layouts, assist with shelf stocking, and help customers find products with a friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at check out.
• Aim for at least five items in each bag while preventing damage.
• Bag items using reusable, plastic or paper bags.
• Assist in moving customer merchandise to checkout area.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, trash in store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout and locate products; conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report repair needs.
• Create an inviting environment by answering questions about products.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflict calmly and professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
