Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger at our Agoura Hills store to provide friendly, efficient service and maintain a clean shopping environment. You’ll bag groceries, assist customers with loading bags into vehicles, and help ensure safety and food safety standards are followed throughout the store.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers.
• Strive for at least five items in the bag while avoiding damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of bascart at checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills and collect trash inside store and in parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a constructive, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
