Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Grocery Clerk to create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and by maintaining a safe, clean store environment that invites customers back.

As a Grocery Clerk, you will assist the department manager in meeting sales goals, stock shelves, check product quality and dates, answer questions, and help customers find items while upholding food safety and the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity and safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk helps customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Grocery Clerk informs customers of food specials and recommends grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness. Review 'sell by' dates and take appropriate action.
• Grocery Clerk provides customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products that they have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
