Campbell Grinder seeks a Senior Grinding Process Development Engineer to lead the development of turnkey grinding tooling and processes for aerospace/defense applications. This permanent role offers remote work options for non-local candidates.

You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical and applications teams, develop run-off plans, and guide fixture design while pursuing continuous improvement in grinding technologies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current grinding technologies and equipment.
• Familiar with SolidWorks 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2D.
• Strong technical knowledge, problem solving, attention to detail.
• Understands engineering concepts and machine systems.
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of machine tool applications and processes.

Responsibilities

• Sales support and cost estimates; travel to customers as needed.
• Develop turnkey process plans; specify grinding wheels and arbors; guide fixture design; run-off at base and customer site.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical and Applications Engineering teams; communicate with vendors and customers.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement in grinding technologies.
• Travel to customer sites or vendor facilities as required.

Join a leader in precision engineering and advanced CNC grinding solutions, as Senior Grinding Process Development Engineer on a permanent basis, in the US.

This organization specializes in delivering high-quality machines and innovative technology to our clients in the aerospace, defense, and machinery industries.

CORE FOCUS OF THE ROLE

The Senior Grinding Applications Engineer is responsible for the development of turnkey grinding tooling and processes. This is a remote position for candidates not local to Campbell Grinder or candidates who do not wish to relocate.

DAY-TO-DAY OF THE ROLE

• Sales Support Develop turnkey project cost estimates and time studies. Travel to customers with Sales as needed.
• Turnkey Projects Develop turnkey process plans and associated documentation. Specify grinding wheels and arbors. Guide the design on part fixturing. Lead the process development through run off. Both at base and the customer’s facility if needed.
• Collaboration Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applications Engineering teams to ensure all process needs are met. Communicate with vendors and customers efficiently and professionally.
• Continuous Improvement Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to research and develop the latest grinding technologies.
• Travel Travel when necessary to customers’ sites or vendor facilities.
