Job summary

EnerStaff LLC in Houston, TX is hiring a Grinding Operator to support grinding of fittings and castings in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position offers 1st shift (5am-3:30pm) and 2nd shift (3:30pm-2am) with a pay of $18 per hour.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficient grinding operations. You will maintain grinding booths/warehouse, operate equipment, and assist with related duties.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of experience completing warehouse tasks.
• Preferred: 1-3 years of grinding experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Has the product been inspected for accuracy and quality.
• Packages products per Star Pipe Products’ standards.
• Must wear proper PPE while in the Grinding booth area.
• Must wear goggles while working in the grinding area.
• Sweeps floors and operates the floor scrubber.
• Must be able to wear a respirator for extended periods of time.
• Collects and disposes of trash from Grinding booths, warehouses, and yard.
• Inspects bins, equipment, and warehouse for safety; takes appropriate safety precautions and wears proper PPE.
• Communicates issues such as equipment damage, incidents, safety concerns, etc., to management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Grinding Operator
Shift:1st 5am-3:30pm

Location:Houston, TX 77082 (Energy Corridor)
Start:ASAP
Pay:$18/ hour

The Grinding operator assists the Grinding group with grinding fittings, joint restraints, and other items as needed. This position is accountable for maintaining a safe, efficient, and accurate grinding /warehouse operation, ensuring the best possible service for the customer and coworkers, a standard we are proud to uphold.

Essential Functions

• Must have experience with castings and fittings and know how to grind castings
• Want to learn grinding and essential warehouse operations
• Must have grinding experience in casting and fittings
• Must have experience with hand tools/grinding tools and pneumatic air equipment
• Should be able to perform any other activity assigned from time to time
• Maintains Grinding Booths/warehouse and yard environments to provide the cleanest and
• safest environment possible
• Must be able to carry at least 45lbs constantly

Education/Experience

Required:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience completing warehouse tasks

Preferred:

• 1-3 years of grinding experience in a production or manufacturing environment

Physical Demands

• Able to lift, move, and carry materials up to 45 pounds constantly.
• Will be required to reach, stand, walk, or crouch during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to be on feet continuously during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to lift 45 lbs frequently during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to climb 4 feet onto and off of a fork truck repetitively during a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to kneel and bend at the knees frequently during a 10-hour shiftMust be able to push and pull 300 lbs with a pallet jack frequently during a 10-hour shift
