Job summary

Qualifications

• 5 years of ID grind experience.
• Able to set up and operate ID grinder to accurately grind diameters, faces and bores to tight tolerances.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and production schedules.
• Able to select grinding wheels, speeds and feeds.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Use of inspection equipment such as air gauges, dial bores, micrometers, indicators, calipers.
• May operate other grinding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Heald ID Grinder.
• Read and interpret blueprints, MOTs, sketches or verbal instructions to determine grinding requirements.
• Select proper grinding wheels, speeds and feeds for ID grinding operations.
• Inspect components to ensure tolerances and GD&T are met.
• Maintain quality and documentation using MS Word/Excel and email.

Set-Up and Operate the Heald ID Grinder

• 5 years of ID grind experience
• Capable of setting up and operating ID Grinder to accurately grind diameters, faces and bores to .0001 tolerances efficiently.
• Requires ability to work from a blueprint, MOT, sketch sheet and or verbal instructions.
• Must be able to accurately select appropriate grinding wheels, machine speeds and feeds.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Use of common inspection equipment up to but not limited to air gages, dial bores, micrometers, indicators, calipers, and various layout tools
• May be required to operate other various grinding equipment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as drawings, blueprints, and production schedules.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
