Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a Grinder Operator for the Night Shift (7:00PM - 7:00AM). This role features a rotating schedule and a 15-day/month workload, including a bi-weekly cycle. The operator identifies scrap, feeds the grinder, and maintains a clean, safe work area in a packaging manufacturing environment.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform routine paperwork, and operate pallet jacks. Experience with Palletizers is preferred, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have prior experience operating a Palletizer.

Responsibilities

Grinder Operator - Night Shift (7:00PM - 7:00AM) Job Description Work just 15 days a Month with a Rotating Schedule!!!(Bi-weekly Schedule: work Monday & Tuesday, off Wednesday & Thursday, work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, off Monday & Tuesday, work Wednesday & Thursday, off Friday Saturday & Sunday then the schedule starts over) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Identify scrap to be ground.
  • Sort and grind scrap; identify and mark regrind accordingly for proper identification.
  • Keep warehouse organized.
  • Use Power industrial trucks (Pallet Jacks) to transport materials.
  • Must perform any other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have excellent attendance.
  • Must have good housekeeping skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically)
  • Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
  • Must be able to complete routine paperwork accurately.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have prior experience operating a Palletizer.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract and to multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and hearing protection is provided.
