Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production lines and equipment.
  • Inspect for wear, mechanical issues, and safety concerns.
  • Document maintenance, inspections, and repairs accurately and on time.
  • Maintain maintenance records and files.
  • Assist with general maintenance of building and grounds.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Job Description Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for performing scheduled preventative mainteannce, routine equipment inspections, and minor repairs to help ensure extrusion and production equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a self starter with basic mechanical and electrical knowledge who enjoys troubleshooting, workign with equipment, and being part of a production team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly preventative maintenance (PM) on production lines and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment wear, mechanical issues, and potential safety concerns.
  • Complete preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain required maintenance records and files.
  • Assist with general maintenance of the building and grounds.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance team members to minimize equipment downtime and support production goals.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions and stop work when a condition or behavior presents a potential safety risk.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, training and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work overtime or a fluctuating schedule as business needs require.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education

Education - High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in an industrial mechanical/electrical or maintenance position preferred; or
  • 2-4 years of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate programs such as JDE/AS400, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office.
  • Light welding experience is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to complete job related technical or safety training as required.
Work Environment
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Regularly reach, bend, twist, lean, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
  • Climb and balance as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
  • Use hands and arms to grasp, handle, operate tools, and use computer equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Occasionally exert up to 60 pounds of force, frequently up to 40 pounds and regularly up to 30 pounds.

  • Identify and report unsafe conditions.

Salary Range

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $27.00; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience between $27.00 and $40.00
