Job summary

ChampionX is seeking a Grinder Operator for a 4-day, 10-hour shift (4:15 PM–3:00 AM) in Crowley, TX. The role focuses on Lean manufacturing implementation, operating all department machines, and maintaining high-quality parts.

Cross-training across equipment improves productivity while meeting customer demand. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year of relevant experience, good computer skills, and strong organizational/communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications and prints.

  • Learn, adhere, and apply Lean Manufacturing to maintain high-quality standards.

  • Rotate among processes as needed.

Position Details:
  • 4 day -10hr shift Monday - Thursday, 4:15PM - 3:00AM
What You Will Do:
  • Learn, adhere, and apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to provide and maintain a high-quality standard.

  • Understand and operate all machines and equipment within the department.

  • Cross-train on multiple pieces of equipment and processes to maximize capabilities and productivity.

  • Rotate as needed among all necessary processes.

  • Assist other team members to produce what is needed, when it is needed as determined by customer demand.

  • Use hand-held measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to inspect and measure parts for accuracy and conformance to product specifications.

  • Perform repetitive motions throughout process.

  • Participate in continuous training in Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, and other principles of Operational Excellence

  • Lead or participate in PDCAs as assigned or identified.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1 years of relevant experience

  • Good computer skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Commitment to work overtime as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate levels of daily attendance, initiative and productivity.

  • Read and follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete work according to proper product specifications.

  • Read and understand product specifications, drawings, and prints

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds and standing or walking in the work area for most of the day is a requirement of the job.

  • Stand for up to 8 hours.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel, and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with arms and hands as needed.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
