Job summary

ChampionX is hiring a spray welder for the 2nd shift in Crowley, TX. The role involves setting up and operating welding machines, with GTAW experience preferred. You will work with a team to ensure safety, quality, and productivity, following blueprints and drawings, and performing other duties as assigned.

Training on day shift is available. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule (4:15pm–3:00am) with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of relevant welding experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and commit to overtime.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions and drawings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use calipers/tape measures.
  • Maintain welding specifications per quality and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate welding machines per job requirements.
  • GTAW manual or automatic welding experience preferred.
  • Weld to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Interact professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Weld components using arc and gas welding equipment on various positions.
  • Follow drawings, operation sheets and instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do:
  • Setup and operate welding machines based on job requirements.
  • Previous GTAW Manual or Automatic experience preferred.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standard.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Interact politely and professionally with customers and/or coworkers.
  • Uses hand welding and flame cutting equipment such as arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches to weld together metal components (flat, horizontal, or vertical plates and pipes)
  • Works from sketches, prints, operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A year of relevant experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Commitment to work overtime as needed
  • Maintain appropriate levels of daily attendance, initiative and productivity
  • Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
  • Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents, and fractions to decimal equivalents
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
  • Must maintain welding specifications in accordance with all quality and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
Physical Demands:
  • The employee regularly lifts and carries up to 50 lbs.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel, and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with arms and hands as needed.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
