Job summary

Metraflex in McCook, IL is seeking a Grinder for our manufacturing team. The role focuses on hand grinding and sandblasting metal parts, verifying surface quality and facilitating welding preparation within a collaborative shop.

The ideal candidate is mechanically minded, a team player, physically capable of lifting 25–50 lbs, and comfortable with English/Spanish communication. This full-time Day Shift offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs regularly.
• Mechanically inclined and good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Hand grinding and sandblasting metal parts to clean and prepare for welding.
• Select and change grinding belts as needed.
• Load, unload, and transport containers of parts between operations/stations.
• Repairs or replaces machine parts and grinding wheels to maintain equipment.
• Inspect finished work to ensure surfaces meet specifications.
• May support other departments as needed.
