Job summary

Delta Workforce in Racine, WI is seeking a Grinder for an on-site role in an aluminum castings foundry. This contract position starts at $20-$22 per hour and offers a direct-hire opportunity after 520 hours.

You will grind, trim, and finish aluminum castings using pneumatic grinders and belt sanders, inspect for defects, and help keep equipment and the foundry safe and clean. Shift is 1st, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; candidates must be able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a high-temperature

Qualifications

• Experience operating grinding equipment in a metal casting environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Grind, trim, and finish aluminum castings using pneumatic grinders, belt sanders, and other finishing equipment.
• Remove gates, risers, flash, fins, and excess material according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Inspect castings for surface defects, cracks, porosity, or dimensional issues before and after grinding.
• Ensure castings meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Operate overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, or lifting devices to safely move heavy castings (if certified).

Job Description

Location: Racine, WI area (on-site, aluminum castings foundry)

Job Summary

A grinder is responsible for removing excess metal from aluminum castings and preparing finished parts for inspection, machining, or shipment. This position uses handheld and stationary grinding equipment to remove gates, risers, flash, and surface imperfections while ensuring products meet quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities
