Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Grinder in Houston, TX to operate grinding equipment and remove cosmetic defects from castings before they enter machining. You will inspect castings, grind surfaces to meet quality standards, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and experience in manufacturing or industrial settings. Candidates must follow safety procedures, wear PPE, and be able to handle physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced plant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Relevant manufacturing or industrial experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and industrial equipment.
• Ability to identify and communicate casting defects and quality issues.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Previous grinding, casting, foundry, or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect castings for defects prior to grinding.
• Operate grinding equipment to remove cosmetic defects and produce the required finish.
• Identify casting defects and bring them to the supervisor’s attention for corrective action.
• Ensure castings meet quality standards before entering the machining area.
• Maintain grinding machinery, patterns, hand tools, and other equipment in good working condition.
• Safely operate hand and power tools, machinery, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Wear all required PPE and follow company safety procedures.
• Participate in required training and continuing education.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
