Job summary

Combined Metals Company is seeking a skilled operator for its grinding and tooling area in Elgin, Illinois. The role requires reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools to produce quality strip and wire products.

You will operate CNC/manual machines, adjust settings, and document maintenance and production activities while upholding strict safety standards and working closely with maintenance, quality, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required and candidates must pass the mechanical test.
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred and ability to read blueprints is needed.
• Ability to read measuring instruments and maintain accurate production records.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety policies is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare tooling by grinding and polishing per customer and manufacturing needs.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines.
• Maintain records of maintenance and production activities.
• Identify defects and communicate issues to manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.
• Train and mentor new operators to ensure readiness.
