Job summary

Vantedge Medical is seeking a Grind Operator I for our San Jose, CA facility. This full-time, day-shift role runs 4:30 am to 1:10 pm onsite, with an hourly wage of $26-$28.

You will perform grinding and oscillation of welded parts, read and follow job descriptions, verify counts, and maintain a safe work area while meeting Vander-Bend cosmetic standards. Prior sheet metal experience is preferred.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written documents.
• Basic arithmetic skills.
• One year of sheet metal and/or metalworking experience preferred.
• Six months of sheet metal grinding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform grinding and oscillation on welded parts.
• Follow verbal and/or written job descriptions.
• Ensure proper handling and stacking of parts.
• Verify previous operations are completed and part counts.
• Check finished processes and ensure accurate part counts.
• Communicate weld voids/cracks to the Lead Grind Operator.
• Maintain a safe and professional work area.

About this Opportunity:

This position performs grinding and oscillation of welded parts in accordance with the latest revision of Vander-Bend Manufacturing cosmetic standard.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations in various departments as needed.
• Perform grinding and oscillation on welded parts.
• Follow verbal and or written job descriptions.
• Ensure proper handling and stacking of parts.
• Verify previous operations are completed and part counts are accurate.
• Check finished processes and ensures accurate part counts.
• Communicate weld voids and or cracks to the Lead Grind Operator.
• Maintain a safe and professional work area.

Requirements

• Requires the ability to read and understand written documents.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.
• One year of sheet metal and/or metalworking related experience is preferred.
• Six months of sheet metal grinding experience is preferred.
• Requires the dexterity to work with the following grinding tools.

1. 2\" right angle grinder
2. 4\" electric grinder
3. 7\" electric grinder
4. 5\" oscillating sander

• Requires the ability to grind parts that meet or exceed Vander-Bends quality standards.
• During the course of employment, develop the ability to read and properly interpret blueprints.
• May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Extended periods of time standing.
