Vander-Bend Manufacturing is hiring a Grind Operator I to perform entry‑level grinding and oscillation of welded parts in accordance with our cosmetic standards. This on‑site, full‑time role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to process instructions.

The position requires six months of deburr or sheet metal experience, basic reading skills, arithmetic, and dexterity with grinding tools. Extended standing and moderate physical effort are expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Six months of deburr and/or sheet metal experience are required.
• Able to read and understand written documents and verbal instructions.
• Basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction.
• Able to grind parts that meet Vander-Bend quality standards.
• Potential to read and interpret blueprints including grind symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform grinding and oscillation on welded parts.
• Ensure proper handling and stacking of parts.
• Verify previous operations are completed and part counts are accurate.
• Check finished processes and ensure accurate part counts.
• Communicate weld voids or cracks to the Lead Weld Operator or Weld Supervisor.
