Essential Job Functions
  • Sets up and breaks down station as per production sheet
  • Grills, cooks, and fries foods such as French fries, chicken breasts, and hamburgers as required
  • Receives, communicates, and organizes all tickets with team members ensuring proper timing of food execution
  • Quickly comprehends, communicates, and executes detailed instructions in a high-volume kitchen
  • Keeps open communication with the expediter to ensure accurate food preparation and service
  • Cooks the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several orders simultaneously
  • Garnishes hamburgers and other items like salads and sandwiches to guest specifications
  • Restocks station and meets or exceeds daily prep lists, maintaining teamwork
  • Occasional Buffet, Line, and Production Cook responsibilities as assigned
All Cooks, Including Grill Cook:
  • Maintains high sanitation standards at the work station
  • Keeps food area free of debris and trash
  • Reports to work on time
  • Communicates with Sous Chef about product shortages
  • Handles breakdown and storage of daily food and supply deliveries
  • Monitors product freshness and availability in freezers, walk-ins, and storerooms
  • Follows FIFO procedures for storage
  • Checks food temperatures and replaces items as needed
  • Assists in quality control of food items
  • Ensures effective communication between shifts
  • Stays updated on departmental policies and procedures
  • Prepares and executes recipes per standards
  • Follows departmental rules and side work assignments
  • Provides prompt, professional, and courteous guest service
  • Seeks continuous service improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Grill Cook:
  • Basic knife skills, organizational skills, understanding of meat temperatures, and quick cooking to specifications
All Cooks, Including Grill Cook:
  • Illinois Food Handler Certification required
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and with urgency
  • Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • Flexible shifts including holidays
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 pounds), and working in conditions like wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise
