Job summary

J. Alexander's Restaurant is seeking a Grill Cook to join our contemporary American kitchen. You'll oversee grill stations, monitor grill temps, and ensure proper execution of orders in a fast-paced, open-kitchen setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and adherence to sanitation standards. Previous broiler experience is preferred but not required; flexible scheduling is offered in a supportive hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age to operate kitchen equipment.
• 1 yr. kitchen/culinary/chef experience on a broiler is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with kitchen equipment including knives, slicer, mixer, stoves, and ovens.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the grill temperature throughout the shift.
• Open-kitchen layout with visibility from the dining room and coordination with expo and management.
• Manage ticket orders for proteins and ensure proper food temps per company specs.
• Maintain a clean station and workspace and follow sanitation protocols.
• Perform opening duties and closing cleaning duties.

Job Description: This individual is responsible for maintaining the temperature of the grill throughout the shift. Our restaurants typically include an open-kitchen layout with visibility from the dining room. Coordination of designated positions requires strong communication and teamwork with other employees, including assembler, expo, and all members of management. This position must manage ticket orders for proteins and is responsible for the execution of proper food temps and following company specifications while maintaining a clean station and workspace. Proper sanitation protocols must be followed. Responsibilities also include opening duties and closing cleaning duties.
