Specializing in tasty tacos, rice bowls, fajitas & more. The space features authentic and energetic Mexican decor with an indoor/outdoor bar and waterway seating. Our bar offers a large selection of creative cocktails, signature margaritas and staggering selection of mezcals and tequilas.

Taco Mundo Kitchen Y Cantina in Columbia, SC is now hiring a Grill Cook.

Are you a grill master with a passion for sizzling flavors? The Homegrown Hospitality Group is looking for a Grill Cook to join our vibrant kitchen team. As a Grill Cook, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety and sanitation, and contributing to a positive team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare a variety of dishes, including appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts, according to recipes and standards with a focus on grilled meats.
  2. Cook food to order, ensuring timely delivery and proper plating.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  4. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  5. Follow standardized recipes and portion control.
  6. Assist with prep work, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and making sauces.
  7. Stock and maintain kitchen supplies.
  8. Help with closing duties, such as cleaning equipment, washing dishes, and restocking supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Required: Must be 18 years of age
  2. Preferred: Prior experience working in a restaurant or retail setting
  3. Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  4. Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food safety practices.
  5. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  6. Strong attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work as part of a team.
  8. Knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
  9. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  10. Skilled in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail
  11. Ability to take direction and execute team and company objectives
  12. Knowledge of specs, cook times, plate presentation, etc.
  13. Adheres to ticket order management system
  14. Comply with all specs, quality standards, and department rules and procedures
  15. Take direction from outside and inside Expo
  16. Ability to follow specific service time and guidelines
  17. Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
  18. Must be reliable and dependable by adhering to a schedule, covering shifts as necessary, and being on time for scheduled shifts
SALARY RANGE

$18 - $21 / Hourly
