Mike's Red Tacos in San Diego, CA is seeking a dedicated Cook to thrive in our fast-paced kitchen. You will grill signature birria tacos, assemble burritos with precision, and ensure accurate portion weights while maintaining high quality.

Responsibilities include timely service, precise plating, and strict adherence to weight guidelines. This role requires 18+ with bilingual Spanish/English, 1 year cooking experience, and 20-35 hours weekly including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of cooking experience.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work 20-35 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation and punctuality for all shifts.
• Must possess or willing to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Prior restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, though not required.
• Must be able to stand or walk for up to 6 hours at a time.
• Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Medium work involving the lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Grill: stationed at the grill, cook birria tacos to recipe standards with precise portion control.
• Burrito Line: assemble and prepare burritos with careful attention to weights and consistency.
• Plating: ensure dishes are plated beautifully and meet presentation guidelines.
• Timely Service: maintain speed and accuracy during peak service hours.
