Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Grievance Coordinator to oversee the inmate/resident grievance process in a secure setting. You will ensure informal and formal processes comply with company and contractual requirements while coordinating investigations and maintaining accurate records.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a social or behavioral science, at least two years in criminal justice, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A valid driver's license and being at least 21 are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science or related field is required.
  • Two years of experience in criminal justice preferred (experience may substitute education).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • A valid driver's license required.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate/Process inmate/resident grievances according to policies and contractual requirements.
  • Facilitate informal resolutions before escalation to formal grievance process where permissible.
  • Conduct research with inmates/residents/staff to establish factual support; maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Make credibility assessments; weigh the rights/interests of all parties to facilitate successful resolution.
  • Prepare/evaluate reports/responses; monitor action plans; coordinate appeals with management to resolution.
