Job summary

Ambercare is seeking a full-time Bereavement Coordinator to join our hospice team in Albuquerque. The role focuses on coordinating grief counseling services for families and providing bereavement support to hospice staff, with opportunities to develop and refine the program.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, experience with families/caregivers through death/dying, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Experience with families/caregivers and patients through death/dying issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of grief response and counseling individuals or groups.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs (one-to-one, groups, and follow-up) for family caregivers.
• Plans for Bereavement Program development, expansion and refinement through annual evaluation.
• Provides bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with grief via counseling and supervision of interns.
• Provides bereavement information and referral services to community callers and maintains resource lists.
• Assists in evaluating and planning services to meet hospice personnel support needs.
• Participates in hospice activities and relevant committees.
