Job summary

Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) is seeking an Electric Distribution System Operator to coordinate and direct distribution outage restorations and switching activities. The role supports 24/7 control system integrity, monitors OMS data, and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure reliable power delivery to Bandera County communities.

The successful candidate will work under the Energy Operations team, use SCADA and OMS tools, and help manage outages, tagging, and switching procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of college-level coursework in Electrical Distribution or related field preferred.
• 6+ months of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support 24/7 real-time control system integrity to ensure reliability.
• Provide safe direction of restoration activities during shifts.
• Serve as switching authority as assigned by management.
• Adhere to cooperative policies, instructions, and procedures.
• Create switching and tagging instructions and service orders.
• Monitor OMS mapping and outages and coordinate with teams.
• Prepare and approve switching orders to isolate work areas without causing outages.
• Respond to system operation failures and restore power.
