Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) is seeking a Manager of Reliability Coordination to lead a control room team ensuring the electric grid’s safe and secure operation across multiple states. You will collaborate with R&D and customers to influence policy and drive improvements as energy resources grow in the region.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or 12 years equivalent experience), 8+ years in the field, and ISO/RTO expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 12 years of equivalent technical experience.
• 8+ years of relevant technical experience.
• ISO/RTO or energy industry expertise in transmission operations, relay system protection, or substation design/maintenance.
• People management experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead a control room team to respond swiftly and confidently to keep the grid safe and secure.
• Collaborate with R&D teams and customers to influence policy and drive process improvements as renewables expand.
• Transform training and workforce development by partnering with Human Resources to build trust and grow the department.
• Within the first year, earn the trust of your team, peers, and customers and make a measurable impact on operations.
