Job summary

Eccalon, LLC is seeking a Power Engineer specialized in grid-scale energy generation, interconnection design, and storage integration. The role focuses on renewable energy systems, battery storage, and data center power architecture to deliver resilient electric power for critical facilities.

The engineer will design and optimize infrastructure enabling solar and distributed energy sources to charge battery systems, supporting the broader grid and data centers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in power systems engineering with renewable integration and interconnects.
• Knowledge of electrical system design for high/medium/low voltage and DER control.
• Familiarity with data center power requirements and redundancy architectures (N+1, 2N).
• Experience with utility grid codes, interconnection standards, and permitting processes.
• Proficient in power simulation and modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and model integrated energy systems involving solar, wind, batteries, and conventional generation.
• Develop interconnect strategies for safe, reliable connections between renewables, energy storage, and grid infrastructure.
• Perform power flow analysis, protection coordination, and stability studies using industry tools.
• Support microgrid and backup power system design for mission-critical facilities.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and software engineers for system integration.
• Evaluate interconnection standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
• Engage with utility companies and project developers to secure interconnection approvals.
• Prepare technical documentation including diagrams, load studies, and PPAs where applicable.
• Contribute to proposals, R&D efforts, and system prototyping for energy resilience projects.
