Job summary

Versant Power seeks a Supervisor, System Operations to oversee the Transmission and Distribution Control Center, ensuring safe, reliable power delivery and coordination with ISO-NE and regional partners.

Position based in Hampden, MAINTAINS SCADA interfaces, leads outage planning, and manages shift scheduling while maintaining NERC and MPUC standards compliance. Strong leadership and power-system operations experience required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of technical college or equivalent training in Electrical Power or Engineering Technology.
• Five years’ experience in an operating or electrical engineering role in a power system environment.
• Experience with PC-based software including Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn custom systems.
• Identity verification and seven-year background check per NERC standards.
• Maintain a clean criminal record allowing NERC CIP access to Bulk Power System assets.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Passport for operational meetings in New Brunswick.

Responsibilities

• Control, monitor and provide input to the Switching and Tagging write up process to ensure safe operation.
• Directs overall T&D grid operations to ensure safe and reliable performance.
• Plans and coordinates T&D outages with Maine LCC, ISO-NE, NBPSO, NMISA and others.
• Participates in planning for large storms and system disturbances.
• Develops and reviews safety policies and procedures for switching and tagging.
• Oversees SCADA system familiarity and future installations prioritization.
• Supports Operator audits for generator performance as required by ISO-NE.
