Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in New Albany, Ohio is seeking entry- to mid-level engineers to design, implement, and maintain distribution automation projects. You will support DACR, VVO, DERs, and SCADA systems with modern grid technologies, collaborating across multiple teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is encouraged for future PE licensure.
• Engineering technology degree may be considered with further credentials.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement distribution automation control schemes for DACR/FLISR.
• Develop RTU configurations for grid modernization and SCADA integration.
• Collaborate with operating company teams and vendors across multiple groups.
• Maintain standards for grid modernization equipment and cyber-secure designs.
• Coordinate commissioning, testing and maintenance of automation systems.
